What is a CMY Cube?

Explore subtractive colour mixing with the CMY cube.Opposing sides are coloured cyan, magenta or yellow. Rotating the angle from which the cube is viewed, varies the degree to which specific frequencies of cyan, magenta, and yellow are filtered from white light, resulting in a unique, cube-specific spectrum of colours. This process is called "subtractive colour mixing".

The internal geometry of the solid shape has an intermediate level of reflectance over the visible light spectrum. This means that when white light reaches a face of the cube, a portion of that light passes through the face, while the remaining light is either reflected or absorbed. Light reflecting off of the outside faces of the cube is what gives us the cyan, magenta, and yellow colours of the spectrum while the material coating each face absorbs the other frequencies. The light that passes through the material retains only the band of frequencies not otherwise absorbed.

When this passed-through light makes contact with a different face pair, the process repeats, this time the material absorbs a different band of frequencies. The light that remains is a unique colour, specific to the conditions that created it. Starting with pure white light, the CMY cube can create dozens of unique colours.

What is a pre-order?

When demand for our products is high, it's quite common for us to sell out before the next round of inventory arrives at our fulfillment center. If this happens, we'll put up for pre-order any items that have sold out before they arrive. We know when our stock will be delivered, so the following date in brackets is the anticipated delivery date. All purchases will be sent to customers on that day. This allows consumers to reserve their favorite CMY Cube and ensures they receive their desired CMY Cubes of dreams.

General Shipping and Delivery

CMY Cubes is based in Sydney, Australia and we ship worldwide. We have warehouses in both Syndey and the USA.

Most orders are dispatched the next business day. Please kindly allow for additional dispatch time during busy periods. Although we do our best to send out orders in a timely manner, we cannot be held responsible for any delays with Australia Post.

If unsuccessful delivery attempts occur or if your package is not collected from the deposit after unsuccessful delivery attempts, the package will be shipped back to us. If you wish for us to resend it to you, we will charge a flat shipping fee of $5 again. If this happens and you'd like to return your order, you will have to wait for us to receive the package before we issue any refunds.

If your parcel hasn't been delivered after the estimated time of arrival, please let us know and we will file a claim at the post office so they can try to locate it. Sometimes, the post office can take up to 2 months to solve the claim and give us a resolution.This means that we can not issue any refunds or resend any orders before having a final resolution where the parcel is located and/or has been shipped back to us.

We are not responsible for orders lost in transit or for any additional fees such as customs, tax, etc.

If an item says "PRE-ORDER" in the title, it means it is currently out of stock, and will be shipped once it has been restocked. Typically 15-30 days The estimated restock/shipping date will be listed in the product description. Please note all "PRE-ORDER" dates are approximate. If you require an item by a specific date, we recommend emailing us prior to purchasing. Items that are placed with pre-order items will be sent together once the pre-order arrives.

Shipping within Australia

Please note orders are typically dispatched within 1-3 business days of purchase. Please kindly allow for additional dispatch time during busy periods such as sale periods. Although we do our best to send out orders in a timely manner, we cannot be held responsible for any delays with Australia Post.

If you place your order over a weekend or on a public holiday it will be processed and sent out over the following business days (Monday – Friday).

*Items might attract duties/taxes according to the regulations in your country. Duties, taxes and fees are the responsibility of the addressee and are out of the sender and delivery agents hands.

Please ensure to have the correct address to prevent returns and delays.

Unit/apartment number (if applicable), building number, street name, suburb, state, post code (zip code), country and phone number. Prene is not liable for delays if the receiver has placed insufficient address details. If there are insufficient address details, the parcel will be returned back to Prene and there could be further delays with your order as well as an additional charge for resending if the original address is inadequate to be delivered.

Help, I think my order got lost or hasn't been delivered.

Think your order might be lost in transit? For international deliveries (not including the USA) Australia Post quote us 10-20 business days for delivery, but sometimes life happens and they aren’t able to deliver within this timeframe. When this is the case, your tracking number may update to advise of a ‘delayed’ delivery date. If your item still hasn’t been delivered within 30 days, please contact us and we can launch an investigation with Australia Post.

*Please note:Once we pass your CMY Cube order to Australia Post, your package is with a different provider. We completely understand delays are frustrating, however once your order is with the courier, any issues need to be investigated by Australia Post. We are able to contact them on your behalf to resolve any issues. Please be assured, we will always do our best to get the issue sorted as quickly as possible for you.

Returns & Exchanges

FAULTY ITEMS/WARRANTY:
These cubes are a bespoke handmade product and are fragile, they are for educational use and not a toy. 3 sides of the cube are coated in a fragile film and 3 sides are uncoated. Sliding the cube around on a surface can damage or start to peel the film off. When handling, try to not touch the edges or corners of the cube as to not damage the film. If the film does begin to peel at the edges, very carefully lightly press the film back against the cube. Some very light defects/scratching/peeling can occur to the cube during handmade production, this will not effect the educational use of the product.

If your cube has arrived noticeably faulty, please contact customer service immediately to organise an exchange and complete relevant documentation.Please note that normal wear and tear is not considered a product fault.

RETURNS:
Please choose your order carefully as all sales are final and we do not exchange or refund for change of mind (including unwanted gifts, wrong selection etc.) Product dimensions and details are listed on the product's page to provide as much information about the product as possible prior to purchasing.Our dedicated customer care staff are our product experts, and are always available to assist with questions or enquiries.

I need to cancel or change my order!:
Made a mistake? Please email us immediately with the subject line CHANGE or CANCEL and we will do our absolute best to carry out your request.We offer changes and cancelations within 2 hours of your purchase.If 2 hours has passed since you made the purchase, you will need to go through our refunds process. As we do our best to get your orders out to you as soon as we can, occasionally an order will be processed before the team has a chance to change it. We cannot guarantee a change of order after the order is placed so please select your items carefully.
